Finding Concerts by Zip Code

One of the great features on ChoralExpress is the Zip Code Finder.  Below is an example of how it works for me here in Minneapolis.  I can query the results by date range and distance to get a nice listing of concerts in my area.

But if you put in your zip code, you may not find any results!  The reason is that choirs in your region have not posted their concerts on the Choral Calendar (yet!).  If you live in a community like mine here in Minneapolis/St. Paul, there are probably a lot of choirs who would like to share their concerts on a common Choral Calendar.

Please recommend ChoralExpress for your choral community!  It is my hope to have more and more choral communities join ChoralExpress so that users can find their concerts quickly and easily online!

Summer Concerts on the Choral Calendar

Summer is a great time for a choral concert!  In fact, there is a choir in Minnesota that is called the Summer Singers, pictured here!

Here's some info about them:

The Summer Singers is a chamber-sized vocal ensemble. We rehearse for ten weeks each summer to prepare community concerts. Some of the current Singers have been with the group since it was founded in 1988. New Singers have joined from other vocal organizations, colleges or universities. Many members continue singing during the year in other notable groups but find the focus and intimacy of summer singing especially rewarding.

The choir is directed by Vicki Peters.

For more information about this choir, and their upcoming concert list, check out their page here.

Songs of Temperance and Temptation

Described as a "grandiose show for a musical exploration of the history and humor", the Rose Ensemble presents Songs of Temperance and Temptation in June.  I love historical performances that highlight local history - and this program will combine readings and even showtunes to tell the story of Minnesota's love-hate relationship with the pub.

Head over to the Rose Ensemble's website for more information about the group and the concerts.

Minnesota Boychoir Annual Spring Concert!

The Minnesota Boychoir, pictured here, will present their Annual Spring Concert on Saturday, June 4.  Click here for all of the details about this wonderful program and choir.

The Minnesota Boychoir, founded in 1962, is the oldest boychoir in the Minneapolis/Saint Paul metropolitan area. The Boychoir's reputation for excellence has brought invitations from local and national music conventions, as well as sporting events and touring Broadway companies. The Boychoir has performed with the Minnesota Orchestra, the Minnesota Opera, the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra, the Baltimore Symphony, the Prague Philharmonic, Garrison Keillor's A Prairie Home Companion on National Public Radio, and a long list of local and national performers. This season, our choirboys will be featured in three different collaborations with the Minnesota Orchestra (A Scandinavian Christmas, Jingle Bell Doc and Carl Orff's Carmina Burana), have first-time appearance with the Great Northern Union Chorus, and will perform Mahler's Symphony #3 with the University of Minnesota Orchestra and Chorus. The choir's schedule also includes national and international tours. Past tours have thrilled audiences in twelve states and on five continents. Three years ago in celebration of our 45th Anniversary Season, our boys headlined the World Voices Australia International Choral Festival at Sydney's famed Opera House. This summer to kickoff our 50th Anniversary Season, we travel to Milan, Venice, Florence and Rome, Italy.
